“We've got to learn hard things in our lifetime, but it's love that gives you the strength. It's being nice to people and having a lot of fun and laughing harder than anything, hopefully every single day of your life.”

This year has been busy already. Courses, coaching and training are working together at the moment but that is only because I am travelling everyday to RAF Mareham for 8 weeks of Tornado Elecronics at TMS. Well 3 down and 4 exams passed already this commuting is really working out well for the training. Spinning and interval sessions at lunch, dinner in the car on the way home, stopping in the gym or the pool on route to get a session in is great. No time wasting. Maximum returns and plenty of recovery. I also seem to be eating more which is maintaining a healthy weight for all 6'2" of me. I'll just be sorry to go back to Coningsby in March.
Last weekend I spent saturday leading the coaching of Lincoln Tri at the organised swim session. Not bad, I have a few tweeks to make but everyone enjoyed it. I have finally worked out that what is good for me may not work for them. Thats a shame really as some of them have the potential to get alot faster but I can understand they only want to take part and enjoy the sport. Sunday was at Loughborough on the level 2 course. Day 1 was really a refresher of level 1, it has been a few years in between but it all started coming back. The linked sessions are done and the amount of homework required before Sunday will keep me busy today and Friday. Sunday sees me doing my first assesment, bikes, well hopefully I can keep it interesting in the cold climate.
Since January I have up'd the training. This is really the added influence of having someone to drive you through and keep you on your toes when the weather is foul and cold. The intervals are interesting and managable. They just require the effort from me.
Final bit of good news. I have been slected for one of the places on the ITU officials course in Febuary. Bad news its Valentines weekend...... i am sure some arrangements can be made. 2012 here I come.
