"Perhaps the single most important element in mastering the techniques and tactics of racing is experience. But once you have the fundamentals, acquiring the experience is a matter of time". Greg LeMond
The time is getting closer to day one of racing. Am I nervous, not really. I'm anxious as this is going to be a very important season for me. The next 10 years are going to be busy both socially but also personally. Do I continue with the triathlon and the level I am used to or do I switch and find a new niche to follow. All I do know is my mind has been made up for the Big one this year and as long as work have no problems later in the year I am planing on another travel across the globe to compete.
The Interval sessions in the past few weeks have been positive and already I am feeling comfortable at the top end. It won't be challenging the top spots but it will upset the apple carts further down the finishers. I am now finding the strains of fitting life around sport. Sacrifices are being made and some sessions are being adjusted to accommodate. 30 minutes earlier in the morning means an extra session in the bank. It just so peaceful at 5.
The courses are going well also. Every Wednesday a 3hr Turbo/ Tornado Electrical revision is helping. Well both are as painful as each other so why not combine them as one. Now that is a whole new world of hurt. " weeks are down on the coaching and 1 assessment as well. The time is almost over and the new friends and ideas I have acquired could be of advantage in the coming months.
By the way have any of you checked out page 69 of the BTF handbook 2009. Good looking or what!

The lady stood next to you on page 69 appears to be quite distressed. In fact I would guess that you'd just told her a joke and she was crying quietly in response.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I search the pic for you Mike, all I can see is a few council workmen debating how long to take for the next tea break.
ReplyDeleteAre you doing the Squires and Shires Sportive this year? Iplan to do it. . . might even finish it too!
