Feeling Good and Looking Fine!!

Today is one of the first times in recent weeks that I have felt good after a training session. The reason being alcohol. Last night I enjoyed for the first time in a few years a large glass of JP Chenet Rose. After passing out on the sofa I now feel refreshed and up for training. Especially with the open water swim sessions I am doing. The water was clear and warm and just perfect. I could have stayed in all day but after 3k the safe thing to do was get out!

It makes a change really, normally when I swim I am picking up injuries the latest is bruised heels from tumble turns. I swung over during the warm up to go into 300 backstroke with Boston ASC and managed to hit, at full power the edge of the pool. Couldn't walk properly for a week but still able to put the hours in on the bike and swim sessions. Dawn has even now asked me to stop tumble turning as I am picking up more injury time than needed. Good news is I should be back and running next week and not just sneaking a quick 5k tester session at a race. I miss those early runs!

Mallory Park was a great race, apart from cramp at the start of the run. I managed to lead the rest of the RAF into T2 (Just!) after a great swim and T1. This is a great venue and worth racing at again next year as it is early enough in the season to see my progress....Still plenty of time to go until the big one in Aug.
