Training Peaks....Good or Bad?

Winning isn't everything, but wanting to win is.

I have recently converted from using excel as my training diary to using Training peaks. See the Link in the corner. Initially I thought this great, download my sessions, allow Dr J to have a look and advise me of things I seem to have missed and work on a few bits and pieces as the season starts to unfold. The problem is I have inputted my food diary as well, and it seems I am seriously under eating. 1000 calories on average a days is a lot to not be eating. I'm just not sure how I can combat this, does anyone have any ideas apart from eating more. It has inspired me to train and to think about sessions that I have control of but as I seem to have little or no control over the PT sessions I have to just run with the program. I know the Fat intake over the past 7 days is excessive but what can I do with PAYD.

Training is going well and having the bike down now will help with the boredom over the weekends. Not that I have many free. I will be back at TCR on Valentines weekend to work with OSB and hopefully celebrate another fruitful awards ceremony, how many courses will I put away this year? I wasn't planning on doing much this year but being single frees up your time to train and socialise with my friends.

I have also had a rethink about next years races and think I could  pull of a coup and qualify for the LD World Champs in Henderson, Nevada. What a way to celebrate my 32nd...other than finishing higher than my age. Only 10 months of training required.

Last weekend I managed to survive my first mentoring level 1 officials session. I have to practice more and I think for the level 2 we will cover a few more of the rules. The level 1 concentrated too much on appearance and bearing and just skirted over the rules. Maybe I should cover them more and try to understand other peoples interpretation of the rules.

I assumed you were away at weekends? However, if you're going to be at Southwick at weekends then we should arrange a ride together, maybe with my 'Titchfield Terriers' buddies.

  2. If you still have my e-mail drop me the details of when and where to meet over the weekend. I can't find your e-mail or phone number and the public domain is probably not the best place to publicise it!
