Vo2 and Lactate Testing...Part Deux this time its the bike

Two weeks ago I managed to do ok on a Lactate and Vo2 test with Danny using the treadmill. Well tonight we did it on the bike. I knew it was going to hurt and when the watts increased I just collapsed. The aim really was to keep my cadence as close to normal whilst every 3 minutes the level increased by 30 Watts but as we hit the max it dropped like a sack of potatoes and with only 25 secs left on the level, Danny called time.

However the data on the graph looks great and shows some good working points especially my recovery after 30 secs that is a real starter for 10. What was strange is the linear scale of the Hr, it shows me that if I was stronger it would have been higher the point of crumple.
All I can say is I feel great now and with a 5k TT planned for next weeks I can't wait to see how the results look.
Some geeky figures for those of you who want to know
Max power output 300Watts
Power to Weight Ratio 3.7
18 Days now to Barcelona, my aim is to do a Pb for the distance, hopefully some way below the 4:45's of Beaver last year, Lorient, Brasshatt and Vitruvian in 07.

  1. Weight to power of 3.7 dude. I have a chart that categorises these ratios. That puts you around granny going shopping level! Seriously, well done. Race well and be strong!
