Why does triangularly cut bread taste better than square bread?

It's the Morning after the Afternoon before. My legs are sore and I am struggling to clean the house. I have the next few weeks of to study but I am finding the motivation lacking considerably. Yesterday I competed at the Interservices 1/2 marathon at Fleet. With the sun blazing, wind lacking and very little shade out on the course I soon struggled and after 2 miles sowed from the 3:45 min km pace. For some reason I just couldn't keep it going. Normally this pace is good and I can manage it for about 9 miles before easing but with everyone else about and the undulating terrain I soon knew it wasn't going to be a fast one.

Feeding at 4 miles I soon had no more gels and eased the pace to 4:30 as the heat sored on. With every step I enjoyed running less and with every person passing me I became very negative. How I finished the run I do not know. but i crossed the line in 1:39:38 the 493rd runner of 2100 with less than 70 females ahead of me. If I had run the perfect race and come in within 1 min a mile behind Daz I would have just managed 4 minutes quicker.

Now the boring stats.........remember too fast, too soon put a 50 mile bike on before and I would have been flying.

7k in 30 mins
13k in 60 mins
8k in 40mins

The other triathletes from the club to mention

Matt Stephenson 22nd in 1:15:41
Daz Sharpe 84th in 1:23:01

Would I do it again.......
yesterday I was saying never!
Today is a maybe!
Tomorrow is the starting block for the rest of the year!
