I know who wins!

Well after all the votes were counted and despite a last ditch attempt by Lewis Hamilton I can say that the majority vote went with Chris Hoy winning the 2008 BBC Sports Personality of the year. Lets see how it all pans out on Sunday 14th December. However interesting reading in the Telegraph has Hamilton as 1/2 favorite with Adlington at 3/1 and Hoy 5/2. Have they been watching any of the sports coverage.

Now that I am back from my travels I can concentrate fully on training and really get my teeth into some serious mileage during the winter period. The 8 weeks at altitude have really paid of as less than 24hrs after landing I was out on the bike for a steady ride of 2 hours and struggled to get my heart rate high enough. Afterwards and feeling slightly fatigued in the legs I know what I have ahead of me in the coming months. I have enjoyed a relaxed period off training and generally just minced about on the bike and running really only concentrating hard and putting the time and effort into the pool.

My sessions now until my next session with Dawn on 24th Nov are going to be important. I have a new feel for the water and just hope that returning to the UK will transform my training goals into reality. M main aim for next year has to be Barcelona. The date has now changed to the 24th of May and has really given me more time to shine after winning another team trophy at the Duathlon Champs in April and hopefully picking up some silverware at the Regional Champs at Mallory Park on the bank holiday.

If the weather holds over the week I will be getting the mileage up and enjoying the rides if anyone fancy's joining me.
