After a good weekend it was back down to business and training. Monday saw me back in the water and clocking up another 4k swim comfortably, this time concentrating on sighting and the catch and finish of strokes. All this after an hour on the bike in the sun. I will admit I missed Murrays win and then spent the rest of the evening revising for my HaMS CFS exam. Up with the sparrows but not to train and of to Wittering.
85% not bad I will admit I have been distracted during the week with the constant phone calls about the inter services. I'm not panicking, but when all around you are you can easily be sucked in. I decided, well Dawn insisted actually that I started doing some running and this also coincided with the physio who wanted me to run before my assessment this morning. So setting of at a comfortable pace I soon realised that I was moving quicker and more comfortable than before. In fact I was able to cover 13.1k in that hour and with the sun beating down it felt good. Have I reached that fork in the road yet!
To cap it of last night I attended another Boston ASC session. After the 900 Warm up it was straight in no messing about. 7x250 IM builds on 4:45. All I can say is my arms are twice the size they were when I started and twice as heavy now.
Well this morning's assessment wasn't the worst or best of news really. The original problem has cleared up and I only feel pain 24hrs after running. Now after prodding and poking and lots of head scratching neither physio had any idea and so now I am to begin a week of ultra sound and massage. Lets hope this clears a few things up. The good news is I am now allowed to resume a full running programme, but must use caution when feeling irritation or discomfort. Does anyone not know me I'm Irritable and in discomfort when I don't train let alone when I do.
The training for this week is almost over all that remains is a 50min run at sub 5 pace and a short Open water session tomorrow. I can't wait for Friday and travelling up the road to the Nationals at Wakefield. It will be good to do some training away from home and see all the One Step Beyond guys again.
On another good note my GB kit has returned with my name and sponsors on. I can't wait to try it out now.
Good news Mike ref getting well again.
