Well it has been a few busy weeks for me.
Returned from 7 1/2 months in the Falklands and started a new demanding job. Travelled to Cape Town to be the Chief Bike Official for the WTS Cape Town Triathlon and watched Vicki Holland and Ali Brownlee stamp the GBR dominance on a technical and beautiful course and then managed to squeeze in a few hours sightseeing.
Whilst all that has been going on I have still been managing the small number of clients I have and move towards achieving their personal goals for the 2015 season. Of note coming up is big Stu Kynaston's Ironman Lanzarote in 4 weeks. We have been working hard during the off season to build on last years great season and results. Whats special about Stu is his ability to test me. However over the past few months we have come to the understanding that the long slow runs have been beneficial and I think motivational as he smashed a new PB in Reading 1/2 marathon a few weeks ago. All this whilst still holding down a busy job and partial training weeks.
Results of the month have to go to Abi Bagshaw who not only set a great PB at Fleet 1/2 marathon but built on that by finishing in the top 10 just 55 mins behind super pro and Olympian Daniela Ryf at 1/2 Challenge Fuertoventura. With this performance we can only expect good things for the rest of the season and hope that me manage to get through this one injury free and possibly with a few medals and scalps.
The other athletes are doing great things and I hope to report back on how their seasons pan out in the next few weeks. I am keen to brag about the advances 1 athlete is making very soon with a different approach to training and how this is motivating them for the new duathlon season.
Finally, I qualified as a level 2 Training Peaks coach the other week and can be seen from time to time flashing up on the Coach Matching page. Its great to be approached by so many athletes in such a short space of time but only a select few will be chosen to work with me.
